1. Our Privacy Commitment

Your privacy is the core principle of Kaari. We are engineered as a privacy-first application. We do not require user accounts, and we do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or productivity metrics to the developer.

2. Data Processing and Storage (On-Device Only)

All content and usage data created within Kaari is processed and stored exclusively on your physical device using its secure, local storage. The developer does not have access to this data.

Data Stored Locally:

  • Projects and Structure: Project names, colors, status, and checklist items.

  • Focus Session Logs: Session durations, timestamps, and any optional metadata or notes.

  • Productivity Metrics: Current and longest streak data, calculated and stored locally.

  • App Preferences: Theme, duration, and local notification settings.

Data Deletion: Deleting the app permanently removes all local data.

3. On-Device Intelligence (AI & Smart Insights)

Kaari utilizes Apple’s on-device Foundation Models to generate "Smart Insights" and weekly summaries.

  • Local Processing: All data analysis and text generation occur locally on your device using its Neural Engine.

  • No Data Transmission: Your productivity data is never transmitted to external servers, cloud AI providers, or the developer for the purpose of generating these insights.

  • User Control: You may disable AI features at any time via the in-app settings.


4. Data Collection Policy (What We Do Not Collect)

In compliance with App Store Review guidelines, Kaari confirms that it does not collect any user data for our own use. Specifically:

  • We do not collect data for analytics, advertising, or marketing purposes.

  • We do not sell or share your personal data with any third party.

  • We do not upload your focus data to any third-party cloud service (including iCloud).

  • We do not access or collect sensitive device data, including your location, contacts, calendar, photos, camera, or microphone.


5. In-App Purchases and Third-Party Services (Data Processors)

Kaari offers a "Pro" subscription. To manage purchase entitlements, we use RevenueCat as a secure entitlement processor.

Transaction Data

  • Processor: Apple App Store & RevenueCat

  • Data Handled by Processor: Financial details, billing data.

  • Data We Receive: None. We do not receive any payment data.

Entitlement Status

  • Processor: RevenueCat

  • Data Handled by Processor: Anonymous App Store receipt data, subscription status, and non-personal user ID.

  • Data We Receive: Entitlement Status only (i.e., "is this user Pro: Yes/No").

6. System Permissions and Diagnostics

  • Notifications: Kaari requests notification permissions for utility purposes only (session alerts, reminders). All notifications are scheduled locally on your device.

  • Diagnostics: Kaari does not collect any analytics or crash reports. If you have separately opted-in at the system level to share diagnostics and usage data with Apple, that data is subject to your agreement with Apple, and we do not have access to it.


7. Your Rights and Contact Information

  • Your Control Over Your Data: You can edit or delete any project or logged session at any time from within the app.

  • Children’s Privacy: Kaari is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from them.

  • Policy Updates: We may update this policy. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy if we do.
